I am a dedicated and experienced educator from the United States. In 2020, I moved to Germany and now call the Stuttgart area home alongside my husband and our three children. Since relocating, my teaching career has evolved from working as an upper school teacher to now being a full-time freelance English instructor and business owner.

I bring over a decade of teaching experience, including nearly five years in Germany, where I’ve taught English to school students and Business English to adult professionals. After graduating from university in the United States with a degree in social sciences and earning my teaching license in subjects like history and government, I began my career teaching upper school students. Many of my students were English language learners, which inspired me to complete a Master’s-level course in ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) to better support their unique needs. Little did I know this training would later prepare me to become a language teacher myself.

Since moving to Germany, I have had the privilege of teaching a diverse range of students. My primary focus is on upper school learners, particularly those preparing for and taking their English Abitur exams, as well as professionals seeking to improve their Business English skills.

As an educator, I believe in lifelong learning and continuously invest in my professional development. I’ve completed vocal workshops to assist students with pronunciation, attended seminars on student motivation in online and hybrid settings, and participated in Abitur teacher trainings. Additionally, I’ve explored the use of AI tools in the classroom and pursued other relevant training to ensure I stay current with the latest educational strategies and resources.

Living in Germany has increased my understanding of the challenges and opportunities that come with learning English in a multilingual environment. This perspective allows me to design engaging and effective lessons tailored to students of all backgrounds and mother tongues. Working with both local and international families, I’ve developed a keen awareness of how German as a native language can influence English grammar. Moreover, raising my own children in Germany has provided me with valuable insight into the German school system, giving me a unique advantage as an educator.

As a parent raising bilingual children, I understand the challenges of supporting a child’s language development in a non-native tongue. I also recognize the critical importance of English fluency in our increasingly interconnected world and am passionate about helping students gain the skills they need to succeed.
